This evening is the opportunity for the Montreal Impact FC and their well known rival, the Seattle Sounders FC, to win and leave behind the previous losses in the last week or so, especially for the local team which are going through a losing streak.
It is important to mention that the IMFC, in their last match, went up against a FC Dallas that were also coming out of a losing streak and they finished by surprising the Montreal team with a win.
In front of multiple and recent predictions, Mauro Biello’s players are crossing a phase of lows due to injury or ghost of the past, and this evening they will have to pull out their courage in Seattle.
Montreal icon, Nacho Piatti, mentioned this week that the focus will be on scoring goals, which will be the key to winning and bringing home once again 3 points, similarly to what happened when they faced the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
In the mist of all this, the injury of the World Cup player and Belgium defender Laurent Ciman, who won the honors of best defender in 2015 in the MLS. Ciman is a fundamental piece in maintaining a solid containment in the defensive line as well vision of play, qualities that distinguish this player.
A couple of key points to keep in mind when staying up until the wee hours tonight:
- The Sounders FC are the only team with no accumulated points to date in this MLS season.
- Sigi Schmid is the coach with the most wins across the MLS, in addition to have won the honor of Coach of the year in 1999 and 2008, he coached the LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew SC and the UCLA Bruins. A man with an extensive curriculum who also coached on two occasions the USA U-20 national team.
