Last week Minnesota United FC had two opportunities to move up the NASL table but only came away with 2 points. Some is better than none I suppose, though Saturday’s match against Miami FC is certainly a must win.
Currently the Loons sit in the 5th spot in the Fall table and but only by 2 points. Not a lot separates them from the top, but inconsistency will keep them from reaching their high aspirations for this season.
Christian Ramirez is one name you’re probably very familiar with by now and he continues to lead the side week in and week out. Ibson will be key to the teams success moving forwards. When he’s on in the midfield position the Loons seem unstoppable, and when he’s not they suffer.
Miami FC comes into the match in 7th place in the table. Last week they pulled out a 2-1 lead against league leaders Indy Eleven, so expect them to have a swagger coming out of the gage. Dario Cvitanich currently leads the side in goals including one against Indy last week early in the game.
Tied for the league lead in saves, the Loons also have to figure out how to break Miami goalkeeper Daniel Vega’s wall. On the defensive side they’ll also need a stellar game from there back line as they go up against Jonny Steeler and Richie Ryan who are always a threat to create chances.
Minnesota United FC takes on Miami FC tonight at NSC Stadium in Blaine, MN at 7pm CT. You can stream the game live on ESPN 3.
