The Portland Timbers had a stellar performance against the Vancouver Whitecaps, earning an amazing 3-2 win and stopping the hosts’ rally in the ending minutes of the match to earn three golden points on the road.
With Week 6 being amongst the highlights of MLS Rivalry Week, the first of the Cascadia Derbies was its highlight when the Timbers traveled north of the border to BC Place in Vancouver to face off a momentum-driven Caps.
For Yimmi Chara, making his third MLS Team of the Week and being one of Portland’s main men in its midfield, in this match, the younger of the Chara clan had assist and a goal.
As his play became the game-winning goal in the 78th minute muscling off a defender to score what became the go ahead and game-winner goal in the Timbers win.
