Portland Timbers earned their first victory with a 1-0 win against Austin FC at Providence Park. After drawing 2-2 in their season opener with New England at home, and then in 1-1 in LA against LAFC, the Timbers were able to finally deliver their first three points of the season. Portland defender Bill Tuiloma scored a header in the 62nd minute, from a cross by midfielder Yimmi Chará. The Colombian international completed his fourth assist of the season, while the New Zealand, and also international Bill Tuiloma, netted his first goal of the Season.
