Portland Timbers Diego Valeri and Jorge Villafaña getting recognized by MLS

Week 26 was one amazing week full of goals and standout defensive performances that lead to two of the Portland Timbers players featured in MLS Team and Goal of the Week.

As Jorge Villafaña amazing performance on defense last Saturday against Real Salt Lake, the man was named into MLS Team of the Week. For Diego Valeri scoring the lone goal and what became the game winner. His goal is featured as Goal of the Week.

Along with Pedro Santos from Columbus, Mason Toye- Minnesota, Kacper Przybylko- Philadelphia Union, Josef Martinez- Atlanta.

This week’s spotlight player is LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Sounders on Sunday. Ibrahimovic garnered 1,063 points, best in the league for the week.

In addition to his contributions on the scoresheet, the Swedish superstar had a 75% accuracy rate and won 71% of his aerials, 10 in total for the game.
