The Portland Timbers defender Bill Tuiloma was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 3 the league announced today. Adding defensive midfielder Diego Chara to the bench.
For the man from New Zealand, his contributions to the team have been enormous since last season. Ever since the start of the season, Tuiloma is the starter and so far, the man has delivered wonders for the Timbers in their first three games.
With a game-winning score in the 62nd minute against Austin FC in Providence Park, these heroics were enough for him to earn him a spot in MLS Team of the Week in addition of him being a leader in the Portland backline that is unbeaten.
Alongside Tuiloma, defensive midfielder Diego Chara was included in the bench after his 90 minutes of play, winning six possessions and with an 85% passing accuracy. The Timbers captain leads the club in all-time appearances (313) and overall minutes (27,473).
