Portland Timbers earned a 2-1 victory over their Cascadia rivals, the Vancouver Whitecaps, in a match that looked more like a regular season match than a friendly tournament. Portland goals were scored first by Diego Valeri from the penalty spot in the first half, and by Andy Polo with a magnificent strike in the second. The Vancouver Whitecaps tied temporally the match in the first half thanks to a header by Lucas Cavallini.
