The question came at the end of the presser. “Is it panic time?”
“I don’t think you’d want to panic if you’re in playoff position,” Timbers coach Caleb Porter said. “Why would you panic? You’d panic if you were bottom of the league and you couldn’t get into the playoffs. Then you’d panic.”
Having just dropped three points with a 2-0 loss at home to the New York Red Bulls, the Timbers are “hanging on by a thread” to the sixth and final playoff slot in the Western Conference, just one point above the red line with five games left in the regular season. The Timbers will play three of their remaining games on the road.
The Timbers will travel to meet the Columbus Crew Saturday, September 26.
