SEATTLE, WA–While we wait for the MLS and NWSL seasons to start up again, we offer this from college soccer in Seattle. Both the men’s and women’s soccer seasons were pushed to Spring this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Karlee Stueckle’s shot with 18 seconds remaining snuck through the hands of Washington State’s Marissa Zucchetto to give Washington a 2-1 victory in the Boeing Apple Cup series for soccer between the two sides. A seventh-minute goal by Ruby Hellstrom was earlier cancelled out by WSU’s Makamae Gomera-Stevens in the 73rd.
The Huskies are 6-1-2 now on the year while the Cougars are dealt their first loss of the season at 4-1-1.
We like to thank Emma Ottosen for the photos via Melissa Levin, one of our photographers for the Sounders and the OL Reign, for the photos from Friday’s match.
