VANCOUVER, BC–While LAFC wait for their recent signings such as Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini to make their debuts next week in “El Traffico”, it was one of Vancouver’s Designated Players who snatched the three points for the Whitecaps at BC Place on Saturday night. Andres Cubas struck in the 89th minute as the Whitecaps defeated LAFC, 1-0, at BC Place before a crowd of 18,192. It is Cubas’s first goal for the Whitecaps and it keeps them within striking distance of the playoff line just goal difference behind LA Galaxy for seventh place going into Sunday’s action.
