TACOMA, WA–Two goals by Sam Adeniran and one by Juan Alvarez–his first professional goal–gave the Tacoma Defiance a 3-1 win over the Oakland Roots in USL Championship play. The Defiance remain unbeaten at home and moved back into the playoff places in the Pacific Division, two points clear of LA Galaxy II with two matches in hand.

Wal Fall got the lone goal for the Roots who remain (no pun intended) rooted to the bottom of the Pacific and all of the USL Championship on just six points from 12 matches.
