NASHVILLE, TN–Sunday was Matchday Two at the SheBelieves Cup at Geodis Park and a goal by Mallory Swanson (neé Pugh) was enough to give the US Women’s National Team a 1-0 win over Japan to give them six points and a +3 goal difference. In the second match, goals from Vanessa Gilles and Evelyne Viens gave Canada a 2-0 win over Brazil.
The USWNT just need to avoid defeat in their final match against Brazil on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium to claim the SheBelieves Cup for the fourth time running. Brazil need to win by at least three goals and hope Canada does not win by an equal or greater margin over Japan to claim the Cup.
Canada and Japan play at 3pm CT while the USA and Brazil play at 6pm CT at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX. Both matches are on HBO Max in English and Peacock in Spanish.
