In their first game in the NWSL the Utah Royals wasted no time in showing off their talent. Within three minutes Royal’s midfielder Gunnhildur Jonsdottir put one past Ashlyn Harris to put Utah up 1-0. The Pride pulled things back together and in the 21st minute Marta tied up the game with a penalty kick after Royal’s captain Becky Sauerbrunn was called for a hand ball in the box and shown the yellow.
