Nashville SC 1-1 Inter Miami CF (Inter Miami win 10-9 on penalties)
NASHVILLE, TN–It became a first trophy for Inter Miami and a 44th trophy for Lionel Messi as the Herons defeated Nashville SC on penalties after a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. Messi scored his tenth goal of the Leagues Cup with an exquisite finish in the 23rd minute. Fafa Picault would equalize for the Coyotes in the 57th minute after his header off the corner kick deflected off Drake Callender and into the net.
It went to penalties and every player on the pitch at the full time whistle would end up taking one. Messi would score his first. Randall Leal would be denied by Callender, Victor Ulloa would be stopped by Elliot Panicco in the fifth round. Everyone else made theirs by the time the eleventh round came and the goalkeepers were up. Callender made his kick and then saved Panicco’s shot to claim the cup for Inter Miami.
