Columbus Crew Sc opened their new home, Lower.com Field, on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against the team they opened Historic Crew Stadium against in 1999 in the New England Revolution.

Tajon Buchanan became the answer to the player who got the first goal at the new stadium in the 13th minute heading in a cross from De Juan Jones. Buchanan then assisted on Gustavo Bou’s goal at the half hour mark.

The answer to the first Columbus player to score at Lower.com Field became Gyasi Zardes in the 39th minute beating Matt Turner far post. Then, comic capers happened in the 69th minute as Liam Fraser’s long ball took a deflection off Andrew Farrell and past a misdirected Turner into the net. The Crew tried for a winner late, but it was honors even in the end.
