COMMERCE CITY, CO–The Rapids did their damage just before halftime, after halftime, and at the hour mark as they romped to a 3-0 win over Austin FC. The win keeps the Rapids in third place, but within three points of the West-leading Sounders.
Johnathan Lewis got the first goal before half time as his header deflected off Nick Lima and into the net. Andrew Tarbell scored in the first minute of the second half and then Auston Trusty headed in a corner in the 59th minute to complete the scoring.
