COMMERCE CITY, CO–It was honors even at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park as Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes played to a 1-1 draw. The Rapids are now unbeaten in their last seven at home (four wins, three draws) while the Quakes are now winless in their last nine overall (six losses, three draws).
Javier Eduardo Lopez’s 11th minute strike for the Quakes was cancelled out by Cole Bassett’s for the Rapids in the 53rd. The biggest talking point from the match came in the 70th minute when Quakes head coach Matias Almeyda’s translator Agustin Zalazar was shown two quick yellows and sent off for arguing with the referee.
