The Philadelphia Union finished 2016 in 6th place, making its second ever playoff appearance. Throughout the tumultuous year, my photographer, Charlotte Thomas, and I were there to document the season. We had a lot of fun watching the Union progress each game. Each individual improved leaps and bounds, while as a team, the Union matured and learned how to deal with adversity. While the end of the season wasn’t ideal, most fans can at least say it was a fun ride. We should expect much more from the Union in 2017, but for now we can appreciate what the team accomplished in the long, 34 game season.
Here are the best photos from 2016, as chosen by Charlotte Thomas.
