It hasn’t take Owen Coyle long to be back at work.
Having left Houston Dynamo last month, Coyle has been appointed at Lancashire club Blackburn Rovers. Despite playing for two of their closest rivals, Burnley and Bolton Wanderers, Rovers today appointed him to succeed Paul Lambert who activated a release clause in his contract.
He will retain Alan Irvine, Lambert’s second in command. Rovers finished 15th in last season’s Championship.
