Gorilla FC Press Release

Osvaldo Alonso joins Gorilla FC to fight childhood cancer

Sometimes fighting cancer can be as simple as shaving your head. Gorilla FC is proud to announce that we will again be taking part in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s fight to cure childhood cancer. On March 12, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, join Gorilla FC and Seattle Sounders FC’s own Osvaldo Alonso at Fado Seattle in shaving our heads for a cause.

After raising $1300 for St. Baldrick’s last year, Gorilla FC is seeking to double that total and help Fado Seattle beat the $52,719 raised at the event in 2014. To do so, Gorilla FC is bringing in some heavy hitters. Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso has joined the Gorilla FC team and will be shaving his head along with our other shavees.

The Sounders first ever draft pick, Steve Zakuani, will also be joining the fun as a guest barber. There’s no telling what other Sounders surprises might be in store for attendees. According to St. Baldrick’s, thus far in 2015, over 10,000 people have registered to shave their heads at their events, raising over $10 million for childhood cancer research. Gorilla FC wants you to join in growing those numbers by coming out to Fado Irish Pub and Restaurant, located at 801 1st Avenue in Seattle, on March 12th. Come celebrate a great cause along with some of your favorite Sounders players past and present. Want to get get involved or donate? Information on giving or joining our team is located here:
