Hail to the newest Portland Timbers man in the field. This of course would be goalkeeper Steve Clark, claimed by the Portland Timbers from waivers this past August. The man has proved valuable under the arches with his all-around defensive game.
So far, in the campaign the man has average a total of 576 minutes under the arches and already logging a couple of clean sheets against the Colorado Rapids and RSL. Ever since he started in this, match substituting an injured Jeff Attinella. Currently as a starter, he has performed decently under the Portland arches.
One by not allowing a goal rout in odd scores his squad has endured lately. By accumulating a whopping 28 saves in the campaign and a record of two wins, two losses and a draw. The man in every match get the best of him but in need of a more solid defensive backfield, as he alone cannot make miracles.
His experience has been his presentation card and the man has provided. However, there is more of a contested campaign to come and with tough matches ahead. The man for sure, he will bring his longtime knowledge and wisdom put on a test. Still the man will prevail, as many in social media state of his quality in his game.
I do not doubt his skills and performance that prevented a serious disaster for his squad in recent matches. Very well steeping up his game the longer he gets the call as a starter to defend the Portland arches. This chap for sure will overcome the odds and deliver time after time.
With an upcoming schedule that includes the likes of very potent and tough to stop offenses. With FC Dallas in town, two matches against Real Salt Lake and closing against Vancouver Whitecaps. If the man is still under the arches, I do not doubt of his defense ability to neutralize the opposition strikers cold.
His time in Major League Soccer with the Columbus Crew and DC United and in the European theater in Danish Superligaen with AC Horsens and Honefoss BK in the Norwegian Eliteserien. This man CV is vast and for sure, he will become valuable when needed when the postseason comes.
