New England Revolution part ways with Andreas Ueland

FOXBOROUGH, MA– According to The Blazing Musket’s Seth Macomber, the New England Revolution have parted ways with center-back Andreas Ueland.

Ueland was listed 2nd among center-backs in Travis Clark’s mlssoccer.com article, “2023 MLS SuperDraft top prospects by position”. It was noted that the Norweigan-American, “will need to show he can defend in space and turn, but he offers real quality.”

Clark’s mock 2023 MLS SuperDraft predicted Ueland to be selected 15th overall by the Portland Timbers.

Ueland ended up dropping to the 10th pick in the 3rd round (68th overall) in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft after coming off of a stellar career at the University of Virginia. 

Throughout his career with UVA, Ueland started all 73 matches in which he appeared. He finished his collegiate career with 19 career points (8 goals and 3 assists). He was named a Third Team All-ACC selection in 2020. His best season for the Cavaliers was in 2022, as he was co-captain and was named a First Team All-ACC selection as well as the ACC Defender of the Year.

He is now a free agent.
