IMPACT TRAVELS TO MEXICO ON SUNDAY
The team will play three exhibition games
MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact travels to Mexico this Sunday, continuing its preseason training in preparation for its quarterfinal Champions League series versus Mexican club Pachuca.
The team, which will travel to Mexico with a 30-player roster, will have the opportunity to train daily on natural grass, play matches against good quality opponents and adapt to the altitude of about 2,300 meters.
The team will be using Mexican club Cruz Azul’s facilities, including La Noria, the club’s first team’s training centre, located south of Mexico City.
The Bleu-blanc-noir will play three preseason games on Mexican soil. The first game will be played on February 10 at 10:30am against the Cruz Azul U20 team. The Impact will then face Club Proyecto Tecamachalco, a second division side, on February 13 at 10:30am. The team will play its last match against a Cruz Azul side made up of first team and reserve team players, on February 17 at 10:30am.
The Impact will then travel to Pachuca on February 22 to train at Estadio Hidalgo on February 23, the eve of the away game versus Pachuca.
The first match of the home and away aggregate goal series will be played on Tuesday, February 24 at 10pm ET (TVA Sports). The return leg of this important matchup will be played the following Tuesday, March 3, at 8pm at Olympic Stadium.
