Last week’s Fall Opener against Carolina put the Loons in prime position heading into their clash with Indy Eleven.
Indy so far this season has run the NASL table, and has yet to lose a game. In their previous match, the Loons fell behind early and eventually dropped 3 points in a 4-2 thriller at Indy.
This week the Loons have a good shot at avenging their May 21st defeat. Indy Center Defensive Midfielder Colin Falvey is out with an injury which plays to the advantage of United. Against Carolina United came out aggressive, playing with a purpose on the attack, while holding firm on defense.
With Falvey out, Daniel Miller will replace him, but Indy’s back line will be tested against the United attack led by Chrisitian Ramirez and Kevin Venegas. Jeb Brodsky will be out on the defensive side for the Loons, after drawing two yellow cards. Look for Danny Cruz to pick up the slack on the defensive end, last week his aggression caused turnovers, and helped spring the Loons attack.
One match up to watch will be between Ramirez, and Indy forward Eamon Zayed. Both currently sit in first and second place for goals scored in league play. The question isn’t who will score but who will make the pivotal play to earn their side 3 points.
