The Columbus Crew are back at home as they host reigning MLS Cup Champions New York City FC in their second and final matchup of the 2022 MLS Campaign. Columbus come into this matchup after giving up a 1-0 lead late in their midweek match against CF Montreal, to fall 2-1. New York City did not have a midweek match, giving them a week of preparation.
Match Preview: Crew vs New York City FC
New York City FC, also known as the pigeons, have won their last two meetings against the Crew, however both meetings were in New York at Yankee Stadium. Columbus has won five of their last six (D1) at home against the pigeons while NYCFC have just one win in 10 visits to the Buckeye State.
Two things that are different this time around come from both sides.
NYCFC are missing star striker Valentin “Tasty” Castellanos who is on loan at Girona in Spain. Columbus, in their last outing against NYCFC, did not have Cucho Hernandez who will be available for selection this Saturday.

New York City FC won their last matchup against Columbus, with a 2-0 victory earlier in the year. Columbus however, own the series lead with a 9-4-7 (W-T-L) record against their New York counterparts.
