A crucial 1-0 win over Inter Miami CF lifted the Columbus Crew’s spirits in hopes of earning a playoff berth. Luis Diaz scored the lone goal in the win, with the help from defender Steven Moreira. Although it was a “gutsy” win, the job is far from over for the Crew.
Columbus is back home Saturday evening as they take on the Chicago Fire. In the reverse fixture in the Windy City, the Fire took a 2-0 lead in the first half and held it to the half. With a brace off of the bench from Derrick Etienne Jr, and Cucho Hernandez scoring his first goal for the club on his debut, the Crew were able to walk away with all three points.
