FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have signed 18-year-old academy forward Malcolm Fry to a first team professional contract.
He will occupy a Supplemental Roster Slot and will be identified as a Homegrown player according to MLS roster rules. The length and type of contract he will have is a homegrown player contract beginning in 2024 through 2026 with a club option for 2027.
Fry, a Groton, Massachusetts native is the 13th player to sign a homegrown professional contract and join the Revolution’s MLS roster. He is the 8th player to ascend from the Revolution II to the first team.
In a career standpoint, Fry joined the Revolution Academy in 2019. He notably recorded 6 goals in 12 appearances for the U17 academy from 2021-22. He later was identified as a key player and was elevated to the U19 academy squad as well, where he assisted the squad in scoring 3 postseason goals enroute to winning the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup.
For the Revolution II this season, Fry appeared in 37 matches (23 starts) and tallied 6 goals and 3 assists. He was a key contributor in their journey to the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Finals.
Upon the end of the Revolution II’s season, Fry joins 15-year-old Peyton Miller and 18-year-old Santiago Suarez in joining the MLS roster in 2024.
The trio are set to follow the footsteps of a handful of Homegrown Players that currently feature for New England including Esmir Bajraktarević (18), Noel Buck (18), Jack Panayotou (19), Justin Rennicks (22), and Damian Rivera (23).
The New England Revolution (14-10-9, 52 pts.) return to Foxborough, Massachusetts to close out the MLS regular season as they face the Philadelphia Union (15-10-8, 55 pts.) in an MLS Match on Saturday, October 22nd. The match kicks off at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
