Another step forward for LAFC.

On Friday, LAFC cleared a major hurdle in its quest to build its Soccer-Specific Stadium near downtown Los Angeles, as the LA City Council approved the final Environmental Impact Report as well as other environmental and entitlement arrangements, thus paving the way for construction of the stadium to begin.

The final Environmental Impact Report passing through the City Council was the final step to get the project moving forward as far as the political process. Now comes the next step, which is tearing down the LA Sports Arena, the site where the stadium will be built. Demolition of the Sports Arena is expected to take place this summer, and LAFC will work to have the stadium ready by the start of the 2018 season.

Not long after the stadium project cleared the last political hurdle, LAFC released updated renderings of its stadium. The new renderings can be found on LAFC’s new website.
