Entering Saturday’s match, Colorado was three points shy of FC Dallas. A win for the home team was not implausible. After all, Colorado has been undefeated since April and Dallas has it’s share of road woes this season. In fact, this outcome seemed very likely as the teams left the first half with Colorado leading 1-0. It seemed destined to be a Colorado win until an 82′ wunderstrike by Victor Ulloa from 35 yards out put Dallas on the board. Ulloa, who had entered the game as a substitute in the 80th minute, found the ball at his feet from 35 yards out. His dipping ball actually touched the hand of Tim Howard who was unable to keep it out of the back of his net. Howard had five saves on the day. His offense did not return the favor on putting two shots on frame. In the end, both teams showed why they are, record-wise, top of the league.
