That may be the case, but one thing for sure, Jeremy Ebobisse’s potential is something that many in Major League Soccer have seriously seen and touted him as delivering a premier season this 2021.
Last season, a concussion injury ended his aspirations of being among the players fighting for the league scoring title and ended the season with eight goals in 18 games and of those with 11 starts.
However, in the year prior, many saw his full potential and scoring 11 goals in 34 games played and 25 started after the Timbers endured a couple of setbacks in Samuel Armenteros in 2018 and in 2019 Brian Fernandes.
Jebo didn’t let the opportunity go and made a statement of his seriousness to stay with the big team for good and in 2020, despite a short season, the man really made a statement in the MLS is Back Tournament.
Recently in a post from Major League Soccer with Jeremy Ebobisse, he was rubbing elbows with LAFC’s Carlos Vela and Diego Rossi, Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez, Seattle Sounders’ Raul Ruidiaz, Columbus Crew’s Gyazy Zardes, and Inter Miami’s Gonzalo Higuaín.
Something tells me of the potential and determination this player must one day see him playing in an important European league after this reporter saw him among the league elite of strikers competing for the Golden Boot Award.
Still, the question needs to be asked why USMNT manager Greg Berhalter has not seen the hypothetical talent that this player has and the way he manages to score in the most difficult way his goals and with a better goal rate.
Jeremy Ebobisse, along with Felipe Mora and Jaroslaw Niezgoda return in the summer. I see his game steping up a lot of notches and making a serious statement as the unmovable forward in the Timbers’ attack.
The talent of Jebo is beyond his scoring abilities as a winger he has shown an ability to be a strong playmaker and still managing to be a threat to opposing defenses!
A campaign with more than 15 plus goals is viable for Jebo in 2021, and expect to see him amongst the top three strikers in the Golden Boot Race as every season this player has developed and grown into a future superstar.
Despite the snub by the national team, if Jebo manages to stay away from the Injury list, I foresee him having a premier season and one that many teams across the Atlantic will not hesitate to make an offer for his services to the Portland Timbers.
