Isaac Angking joins Rhode Island FC

FOXBOROUGH, MA– Rhode Island FC have announced the signing of Providence homegrown and former Bayside FC midfielder Isaac Angking.

He will occupy a senior roster slot.

Isaac Angking is a 24-year-old, 5’10, 161lb, midfielder from Providence, Rhode Island.

At the club level, Angking has appeared in 36 career games (1,798 minutes) across the United States. Angking began his career with the New England Revolution (2018-20) becoming the club’s fourth homegrown player to rise to the senior level. During his time in New England, Angking was sent on two loans to USL Championship side Hartford Athletic (2019) and USL League One side Charlotte Independence (2019). While with New England, he mainly appeared for the Revolution II in the USL League One. Upon his release in 2020, Angking was club less from 2020-22, until he joined the Columbus Crew 2 of the MLS NEXT Pro. While there, he helped assist Columbus to the MLS NEXT Pro title.

Internationally, Angking has 14 youth appearances for the United States Youth National Team (2017-18). In December of 2020, Angking began representing Puerto Rico (2021-present), where he has made 7 international appearances since 2021. During that time, he has scored 4 goals.

In career numbers, Angking has tallied 7 goals and registered 3 assists along with 3 yellow cards and 0 red cards.

He is Rhode Island FC’s 24th all-time acquisition.

Rhode Island FC (1-4-2, 7 pts. in USL Championship) are on the road to Cary, North Carolina as Rhode Island FC are set to face Eastern Conference side North Carolina FC (1-3-3, 6 pts. in USL Championship) at WakeMed Soccer Park. The match kicks off Friday, May 4th at 7:00p.m. on ESPN+.
