Inter Miami’s clash with Atlanta United on Wednesday night was postponed due to a player boycott against social injustice.
Miami’s second-ever home game was put on hold in the lead up to kick-off with players opting not to play in a statement against social injustice in the country.
The boycotts were a common theme across a number of sports on Wednesday after NBA franchise Milwaukee Bucks made it clear they would not be playing their playoff game as a statement against the current situation in the USA.
Calls for social justice have intensified after Jacob Blake was shot several times by Police from behind in Kenosha.
And sports players across the countries have now made a stand by refusing to play, a decision welcomed by many, including Inter Miami.

After it was confirmed Wednesday night’s match would not go ahead, the club posted a picture on Twitter of Inter and Atlanta players posing together, saying “Inter Miami CF stands in support of our players.”
Major League Soccer made a statement of their own, claiming “MLS has made the decision to postpone the remaining five matches” on Wednesday.
But the statement has been widely criticised by players who say they took the decision not to play and not the league.
The five postponed matches, including Inter Miami v Atlanta United, will be rescheduled.
