Inter Miami came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Union on the road thanks to goals from Dos Higuains, Gonzalo and Federico.
Jamiro Monteiro opened the scoring in the 54 minute, but the Union went flat shortly after.
It was a free kick from substitute Federico Higuain to his brother, Gonzalo Higuain, in the 73 minute that leveled the score, before Miami took the lead 10 minutes later thanks to a header, this time from Federico.
Philly edged out possession with 53 percent, and out-shot the visitors 13 to 6. However, Miami took the most of its chances, hitting three goals on target, the same as the Union despite the high totals.
The Union poked and prodded the Miami defense, throwing cross after cross into the box. Miami fended off each one, making a total of 21 clearances, 10 of which came from Leandro Gonzalez Pirez who put in a great defensive outing.
In the end, even in Philly looked the stronger team, Miami did what it takes to repel the home side.
Phil Neville deserves a lot of credit for the changes he made to his team, as he took of designated player Rodolfo Pizarro and was rewarded with a goal and an assist from Federico Higuain in his stead.
Nicolas Figal moved to right back, and ended up serving up the cross for the winning goal, as Neville’s tactical changes payed off for Miami.
