Olympique Lyonnais Femenin 1 – 0 Athletico de Madrid Femenino
Cary, NC–The 2019 Women’s International Champions Cup got underway on Thursday afternoon at WakeMed Soccer Park. The oppressive heat and humidity dominated the day, making for slow play between last year’s ICC runner-up and Atletico Madrid. The game was scoreless and headed to penalty kicks to decide the outcome before Wendie Renard notched the game-winner in stoppage time.
Les Lyonnaises will play the North Carolina Courage, who beat Manchester City, on Sunday evening in a rematch of last year’s ICC Women’s final.
