The 2016 NWSL final will take place in Houston on Sunday, October 9th at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The “Space City” was chosen to host the championship match to crown the NWSLs fourth champion due to the increasing soccer fan base in Houston. With the popularity of the league growing, another key factor was that Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium is one of the best soccer stadiums in the country.
The hosting city was announced by the league during the Houston Dash opener, which the home team won 3-1 against Chicago Red Stars last Saturday.
