Houston Dash coach and General Manager James Clarkson has been suspended from the club amid complaints of discrimination, harrasment, and abuse.
The NWSL and NWSLPA recommended the club to take such actions as this is still and ongoing investigation. An ultimate decision about Clarkson´s future will be made based on the final result of the investigation, the club announced on Tuesday night.
This is not the first case the NWSL has seen in the last year. There are reports of abuse, harrasment and discrimination in other teams. Players from the Portland Thorns and NC Courage are among the clubs that had informed about abuse in differents ways in their organizations.
“As an organization, our highest priority is creating an mantaining a safe and respectful work enviroment for our players and staff, which we believe is critical to our success on the pitch”.
A Dash interim coach will be named soon, as their NWSL season is about to start.
