Columnist Alan Hinton predicted that current Bayern Munich manager “Pep” Guardiola will become Spain’s next national team manager. In his weekly video interview with Prost Amerika’s John Zielonka, the soccer pundit also shared his thoughts on the release of Kenny Cooper from Seattle, issues with the current Major League Soccer schedule, and the recent U.S. Men’s National Team friendlies in Europe.

Hinton forecasted a coaching change after watching the Dutch beat Spain 2-0 in a friendly on March 31. With the Spanish side in transition, the Seattle soccer pundit felt a change was needed from manager Vicente Del Bosque to former Barcelona and current Bayern Munich head coach “Pep” Guardiola.
“I think Guardiola would take the job in a heartbeat.”
Kenny Cooper
Earlier today, the Seattle Sounders FC announced the release of striker Kenny Cooper. Cooper faced problems the MLS salary cap and the Sounders’ need for one striker.

Last week’s 0-0 draw between FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders FC featured a number of players out for international matches. Hinton strongly urged Major League Soccer to address the issue of depleted squads for the sake of fans.

After a critical review of the USMNT’s loss to Denmark, the former English domestic and international player, saw positives in the 1-1 friendly draw in Switzerland. Hinton praised midfielder Brek Shay and his disappointment with Jozy Altidore’s second half ejection.
