Hard win for the Green and Gold

Portland Timbers 1- 0 FC Dallas

Brian Fernandez has become the first player in MLS history to score in five consecutive games.

Not only did the Argentinian set a mark ever since his arrival at Rose City, but as one of Major League Soccer utmost of Designated Players, making a full impact ever since his arrival.

With a price tag that raised many eyebrows, the lad is showing off, its why he was worth every single cent spent on his transfer, so far uplifting his Timbers overall confidence, in delivering wins!

Therefore the man is becoming a huge contributor to the Portland Timbers.

Not only did Brian set a MLS record for goals scored in consecutive league matches, his lone score set the game winner as well contributing for the Portland Timbers exit in the conference cellar.

However, this is a team effort and after Fernandez contribution, being among one of the positives of this club is to see its defensive game steeping up with another clean sheet and at home.

Once considered its Achilles heel, the defensive backfield has found its pride and game that is delivering at home important results with its fantastic foursome hunger.

I mean with a fantastic first half the Timbers showed off their dominance, the second suddenly saw the Texas side mounting some pressure and with clear opportunities.

The Portland Timbers defense with Moreira, Mabiala, Cascante and Villafaña deliver perfection.

Still this is nt over and with more challenges ahead, the Timbers are now to prepare for their next week match against the NYCFC on Sunday, July 7.
