FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution forward Gustavo Bou is set to be sidelined for four weeks with an apparent leg injury.
This is his second leg injury this season.
Mid-day on August 23rd, Twitter account RISoccerNews first reported that forward Gustavo Bou had been in Argentina conducting meetings with medical professionals regarding a right-leg injury and whether surgery would be required.

Less than 24 hours later, The Blazing Musket‘s Seth Macomber stated that Revolution Interim Head Coach Richie Williams confirmed that Bou would be out up to four weeks with a right leg injury. Williams also confirmed that Bou was in Argentina doing work.

On July 10th, 2019, Gustavo Bou signed a designated player contract with the New England Revolution for a club-record transfer fee of $12,000,000 that could rise to $16,000,000 with bonuses and options (Boston Globe). In November of 2021, the club announced that Bou had signed a two-year contract extension that is set to expire on December 31st of 2023.

In his Revolution career, Bou has missed 37 matches. 5 matches in 2020, 4 matches in 2021, 16 matches in 2022, and 12 matches in 2023.
It is currently unknown if the club is set to offer Bou a contract extension is uncertain at this time. As stated above, his contract expires on December 31st, 2023.
