Good times and optimism at the Adidas Training Center in Beaverton

The Portland Timbers are getting ready for their home opener and to kick off the 2022 season against the New England Revolution, who won the Supporters Shield as the team in last season having the best record, on Saturday.

The Portland Timbers are ready to deliver another exciting season and under the watchful eye of its manager Giovanni Savarese. We are ready to see another encore of that successful 2021 campaign.

So far, with a complete squad and good mood as well optimism reigning, all the returning players and coaches are ready to tackle another contested 2022 campaign that promises to be all-around exciting.

When the players spoke to the media, it was time for newcomer David Ayala to address the media and the lad feels very optimistic to come to Rose City and challenge for a starting position in the defensive midfield. In addition to another newcomer Justin Rasmussen this year’s Timbers draftee, has made the first team after putting in an amazing series of performances in the preseason.

Missing in the background were the likes of Diego Valeri and Steve Clark, but in the end, we wish them the best as the responsibility will fall directly to Sebastian Blanco. However, he will have a good core of players to second him. Ready or not, these Portland Timbers are ready, and what I saw this past Tuesday at the Adidas Training Center is very encouraging from this group determined to deliver another repeat to MLS Cup.
