Vancouver Whitecaps 5-Orlando City SC 2
For weeks the Vancouver Whitecaps have been clamoring for their side to get more goals and for head coach Carl Robinson to play a bit more aggressive. Although too match can be made of one match it appears at least in the interim that Robinson has heard them. On Saturday in front of a packed house at BC Place the Caps (6-5-5, 23 points) ripped off a five goal performance in their 5-2 win over Orlando City SC (6-7-1, 19 points).
Kei Kamara got things started for the Whitecaps with his goal in the 36th minute. While Orlando responded quickly with a goal of their own, a Sacha Kjlestan setter in the 64th minute. From the ‘Caps attack took over with four consecutive goals from Alphonso Davies (76′), Kamara (85′), Yordy Reyna (87′), and Nicolas Mezquida (90′). A Dom Dwyer strike in injury time (90′ +4’) got things to within three but it wasn’t enough as the Whitecaps extending their unbeaten streak to six.
