Vancouver Whitecaps 2-Real Salt Lake 0

After losing three games in a row the Vancouver Whitecaps (4-4-1, 13 points) got back on the winning side of things on Friday night, earning a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake (3-4-1, 10 points).

Cristian Techera gave the Whitecaps the lead with his penalty kick goal in the 75th minute. The goal was his first of the 2018 season. They would add an insurance goal just five minutes later when Alphonso Davies found Anthony Blondell with some space for a goal-scoring chance. He made the most of his opportunity giving the Whitecaps the 2-0 win. Blondell’s goal was his first of 2018 and his first in Major League Soccer. The 23 year old Venezuelan international joined the Cascadian side from Monagas SC in the offseason.
