Season openers are always a special night in a soccer season. But for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and their fans 2018 was even more of a special occasion. In the club’s first match of the 2018 season opener against the Bethlehem Steel 12 year old cancer survivor Marissa Peddie sang the National Anthem for her favorite side. That emotional lift is just what the club needed as they defeated the Bethlehem Steel 2-0 at Al Lang Stadium.
The Rowdies goals were scored by Georgi Hristov (61′) and David Najem (69′).
