Tampa, FL-Defenders don’t often score but when they do it is normally in the clutch. Case in point: Hunter Gorskie of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Coming into Saturday’s match against the Charlotte Independence the veteran defender from New York had just one professional goal to his name. But the good news for the Rowdies supporters is that he was able to double the number of goals on the back of his scorecard in Tampa’s 1-0 win over the Charlotte Independence.
With the win Tampa holds on to fourth place in the USL Eastern Conference Standings (12-7-8, 44 points), just one point ahead of the Rochester Rhinos (11-7-10, 43 points). The win also cuts into Charlotte’s second place spot in the East (13-7-9, 48 points) with the Charleston Battery (13-8-8, 48 points) now just a point behind them and Tampa four out.
