Seattle Sounders 3-Sporting Kansas City 1

The Seattle Sounders this season seem to have a flair for the dramatic. On Saturday afternoon the Sounders made another come-from-behind run run scoring three times to defeat Sporting Kansas City 3-1 at CenturyLink Field.

Sporting took the lead very early thanks to a goal from Diego Rubio in the second minute of the match. But the Sounders responded quickly with Raul Ruidiaz in the 12th minute to make it 1-1. In the second half they received a bit of luck with a Graham Zusi own goal in the 52nd minute and a Ike Opara hand ball in the 56th minute. Nico Lodeiro slotted home his penalty kick chance to make it 3-1, a lead that despite a spurious Chad Marshall red card that the Sounders would hold onto.

With the win, Seattle (12-9-5, 41 points) earned their eighth consecutive victory  and kept ahold of the number five spot in the Western Conference standings. They are now just four points behind Sporting Kansas City (13-7-6, 45 points) who are still in third place.
