Seattle Sounders 1-LAFC 1
After a disappointing result in California last week Seattle Sounders supporters were hoping for a little more from their side in their second match against LAFC. For the most part they received it earning a 1-1 draw with nine men against their Western Conference foe.
The two high-scoring sides wasted little time getting on the board. Jordan Morris struck for Seattle first, scoring his fourth goal of the season. But LAFC responded promptly with a goal of their own from Carlos Vela in the fourth minute. Vela now has eleven in ten matches this season.
Seattle were dealt another blow in the 18th minute Cristian Roldan was sent off for violent conduct. They were reduced to nine later in the match after Kevin Leerdam also saw red. But the Sounders defense held firm under considerable pressure, limiting LAFC to shots mostly from distance. Goalkeepeer Stefan Frei made four saves to keep the draw and give the 38, 581 in attendance a point to go home with.
