San Jose Earthquakes 3-Minnesota United FC 2
One game, one win for San Jose Earthquakes coach Mikael Stahre. Despite receiving a late scare from Minnesota the Earthquakes were able to hold on and earn the 3-2 win at Avaya Stadium on Saturday night.
Danny Hoesen’s brace (27′ and 59′) and Vako’s goal in the 28th minute would give the Quakes the 3-0 lead entering into the final third of the match. But a pair of goals by Kevin Molino in the 81st and 85th minute would have the Loons thinking they may sneak away with a point. But credit to the San Jose defense for holding on to earn the three points on the day.
