The Union again outshot its opponent at home by a sizable margin (19-8), but again had far fewer shots on goal (5). Statistics aside, Orlando seemed firmly in control with its crisp passing and speed onto the ball. At the 38th minute, Dom Dwyer pushed through the line on a lofting pass by Sacha Kljestan that left Philly’s favorite keeper Andre Blake exposed for the score. The crowd unanimously opined that, for sure, the linesman missed an offsides call, unsuccessfully chanting protests for “VAR.” Just before half-time, Chris Mueller added to the score, after pressing through stumbles by Jack Elliott and Matthew Real. The two goal lead seemed insurmountable through the second half, as the Union fell at home, where the team thinks it should never lose.
