NYCFC 2-Toronto FC 1

Domenec Torrent might still be learning his way around the Big Apple but he seems to have a pretty good grasp on running New York City FC. Despite being appointed manager under a week ago Torrent showed that perhaps NYCFC might be just fine, guiding his new club to a 2-1 win over Toronto FC at Yankee Stadium on Sunday.

Toronto FC took the lead just before halftime when Victor Vazquez (37′)  finished off a pass from Auro to give The Reds the 1-0 advantage. But NYCFC struck twice in the second half with Jo Inge Berget scoring a brace to give The Pigeons the three points.
