LAFC 1-D.C. United 1
The D.C.-L.A. rivalry might be back in Major League Soccer. On Saturday night D.C. United, Los Angeles FC fought, kicked, and clawed their way through 90 minutes of a hotly contested match. While no side could claim victory United’s Darren Mattocks could certainly claim the role of spoiler, scoring late to give his side the 1-1 draw at Banc of California Stadium.
Diego Rossi gave LAFC the lead in the first half with his strike in the 39th minute. But after Dejan Jakovic was sent off for his second yellow card in injury time, the momentum began to shift towards D.C. Mattocks would be the beneficiary of this change, scoring his sixth goal of the season in the 84th minute.
On hand to cover the match was the newest member of our team: Rene Rodriguez. She will be reporting and providing photography work on LAFC this season. In the meantime please enjoy some of her shots from the game.
